An indoor pickleball facility is planned for construction in Rolling Hills Industrial Park at 6480 U.S. 1 in St. Johns County.

It is south of Palencia and north of the former Kings Head Pub, which is being remade as the Wobbly Whale Public House.

Site plans for the new facility show a 7,000-square-foot building with 29 parking spaces. An existing stormwater pond will be reconstructed to meet design requirements.

Property records show three existing warehouse buildings on the 1.93-acre property.

It is owned by Mueller International Property Agents Corp. of St. Petersburg through 2685 Rolling Hills LLC.

Jacksonville-based Baker Design Group is the civil engineer. 

There are 12 pickleball locations in the county, according to GlobalPickleball.Network. The closest to the proposed facility is 3 miles north at 625 Palencia Club Drive.

The county’s Development Review Committee is scheduled to discuss the project June 6.
