Buc-ee’s at World Commerce Center in St. Augustine is adding more Tesla charging stations.
St. Johns County issued a building permit May 21 for three additional chargers at a project cost of $68,000.
Fort Lauderdale-based Florida’s Best Construction Services is listed as the installer.
According to Tesla.com, 12 Tesla “Superchargers” are already in place at the site. They were permitted Nov. 22, 2022, at a cost of $28,000, and again Nov. 16, 2023, at a cost of $225,000.
Tesla says it operates the world’s largest fast-charging network, with more than 60,000 Superchargers globally. The chargers are along major routes near amenities and are available 24/7. Tesla says its Superchargers can provide 200 miles of range in about 15 minutes. It also offers Destination Charging with more than 40,000 Wall Connectors at hotels, restaurants and other locations.
Buc-ee’s at 200 World Commerce Parkway opened Feb. 22, 2021, near Costco Wholesale and Bass Pro Shops.
Two Fields Auto Group service centers are under construction at the commerce center to service Mercedes-Benz and Porsche vehicles. A third will service a yet-to-be-named luxury line.
