Shores Nutrition, a shop specializing in healthy beverages, is expected to open this summer in St. Augustine.
The 1,600-square-foot store is planned for 240 Blackford Way, Suite 6, off U.S. 1 immediately northeast of the Winn-Dixie-anchored Shores Village shopping center.
St. Johns County issued a $4,500 build-out permit for Shores Nutrition on May 20.
Other stores in the building include Functional Patterns gym, Ancient City Aerial Arts and the Grey Carts golf cart dealership.
TBL Construction of Elkton is the contractor. Mesa Empire, based in Henderson, Nevada, is the landowner and developer.
Mother-daughter duo Cheryl Booth and Krystal Merckling are co-owners.
“It’s all about health and wellness, and we really like giving back to the community,” Booth said.
The shop will act as a distributor for Herbalife Products, an international multi-level marketing company that sells dietary supplements. Booth said she became a distributor last year after she “fell in love with the products.”
Menu items will include protein and meal replacement shakes, energy teas designed to boost metabolism, and specialty coffees.
Sister stores in St. Johns County that serve Herbalife Products include STA Nutrition at 2457 U.S. 1; The Vibe Nutrition at 200 Center Creek Road; and Coastal Nutrition at 2121 U.S. 1, Unit 19.
Store hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday; 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday; and 8 a.m. Sunday, Booth said. Delivery will be available.
