Dutch Bros Coffee is planning an expansion into Orange Park in Clay County.

The Arizona-based coffee chain’s proposed shop is at the site of a closed Speedway gas station in a project identified as Robin’s Nest Plaza at 609 Blanding Blvd., south of Robin Road, according to the St. Johns River Water Management District and Clay County.

Project plans show the shop will be 986 square feet. An unnamed quick-service restaurant totaling 2,285 square feet is also part of the project. The layout matches the footprint of a Chipotle, but that is not confirmed.

Cole Valley Partners frequently works with Dutch Bros. The developer’s website includes testimonials from the coffee chain’s leadership.

“CVP is one of our leading build-to-suit developers nationwide,” Dutch Bros Senior Vice President of Development Aaron Harris said on cvpre.com.

“Beyond this core part of our relationship, we’ve been working closely with the firm to support the entitlement, permitting and construction of multiple ground lease projects. The service provided by CVP helped complement our internal team’s expertise and accelerated the pace of delivery of several stores to help us meet our ambitious growth goals.”

Cole Valley Partners has also developed or converted existing sites into Chipotle locations in Oregon, Texas and Washington.

Portland, Oregon-based Cole Valley Partners is overseeing development. Jacksonville-based Taylor & White is the civil engineer.

Clay County is reviewing plans started in May.
