AdventHealth Medical Group opened its first St. Johns County clinic Nov. 7.

The 3,000-square-foot facility is at 1000 Plantation Island Drive, Suites 2A, 2C and 2D, in St. Augustine, according to a news release.

It specializes in cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, urogynecology, nephrology, neurosurgery, bariatric surgery, vascular and general surgery, the release said.

AdventHealth Medical Group opened its first St. Johns County clinic Nov. 7.

“Our goal is simple: to make it easier for people to get the care they need, when and where they need it,” said Bryan Mueller, president and CEO of AdventHealth Medical Group, in the release. “This clinic brings expert physicians closer to home in an environment built around convenience, compassion and connection.”

AdventHealth has more projects planned for St. Johns County. Earlier this year, the health care provider broke ground on a $12 million, 12-bed freestanding emergency department off Florida 207 near Wildwood Drive. Expected to open in 2026, the facility will offer 24/7 emergency care.

AdventHealth also plans to develop an 88-bed hospital and office space on land it acquired in World Commerce Center in St. Augustine, according to a St. Johns County Growth Management letter. Through AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway Inc., the organization bought three parcels totaling 21.5 acres from World Commerce Center LLP on Feb. 5 for $13.4 million.

The health care provider was founded in 1973 and is headquartered in Altamonte Springs. It operates 32 hospitals, about two dozen freestanding emergency rooms and hundreds of clinics statewide, according to its website.
