A 14th Circle K gas station and convenience store is planned in Clay County.

The proposed site is in Green Cove Springs at County Road 218 and Henley Road.

Larmac Development, of Orange Park, owns the vacant 1.8 acre site where it is proposed. Jacksonville-based Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer.

The proposed Circle K site at County Road 218 and Henley Road.

The site plan shows a 3,956-square-foot building – a standard Circle K footprint — with 23 parking spaces and six pumps with 12 fueling stations.

Plans show there is an adjacent, but undisclosed, development next to the proposed gas station that includes a building with 88 parking spaces. It is not a part of the Circle K proposal.

Alimentation Couche-Tard says it operates about 17,000 Circle K and Couche-Tard stores in 29 countries and territories.

It says it is one of the largest independent convenience store operators in the United States and is a leader in road transportation fuel retail in Canada, Scandinavia, the Baltics, Belgium and Ireland.

It says that Circle K, based in Tempe, Arizona, has been its global brand since 2015.

The ScrapeHero.com data site shows that as of Aug. 8, Circle K had 6,842 locations in the U.S. and territories, with the highest concentration of stores in Florida, with 932, or 14%; followed by Texas, with 777, and Arizona, 622.

The county’s development review committee is scheduled to discuss the Green Cove Springs project Sept. 4.
