Another Circle K gas station and convenience store is planned in Green Cove Springs, this one at U.S. 17 and Russell Road in Green Cove Springs.
It is at 1456 Russell Road west of the St. Johns River on two parcels totaling about 1.9 acres. A RaceTrac gas station and convenience store is across the street to the south.
The property is owned by the Lana L. Wimberly Revocable Trust of Fleming Island, according to the Clay County property appraiser.
According to the building permit application submitted to the county Sept. 16, the Circle K will be 3,956 square feet with six pumps with 12 fueling stations.
Jacksonville-based Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer.
It would be the 15th Circle K in the county and comes less than a month after an application to build one about 7.5 miles east in Green Cove Springs. That Circle K is at County Road 218 and Henley Road in the Lake Asbury community.
Canada-based Alimentation Couche-Tard, which operates about 17,000 Circle K and Couche-Tard stores in 29 countries and territories, is the chain’s parent company.
ScrapeHero.com data shows that as of Aug. 18, Circle K had 6,842 locations in the United States and its territories, led by Florida with 932, or 14%, followed by Texas with 777 and Arizona with 622.
The county’s development review committee is scheduled to discuss the Russell Road project Oct. 9.
