Chick-fil-A is pushing deeper into St. Johns County, with a new location planned near The Fountains at St. Johns mixed-use development.

St. Johns County began reviewing the plans April 2, with the Development Review Committee scheduled April 14 to discuss the proposed 4,713-square-foot restaurant, which would feature a dual drive-thru. The project site is off County Road 210 at Moon Bay Parkway, east of Interstate 95, directly across from The Fountains at St. Johns.

The project description says new Moon Bay Parkway curbs and the potential for a deceleration lane at County Road 210 are part of the project.

JEA began reviewing a service availability request for the project March 26. A service availability request does not confirm a project but indicates the site is being considered for development.

Atlanta-based Foresite Group, the applicant and project engineer, has developed Chick-fil-A sites in Georgia and Mississippi. The 2.4-acre vacant parcel is owned by Jacksonville-based Bel Property Management Inc.

Foresite is developing other projects in the county as well.

In June, JEA issued the firm a service availability letter for a 4,847-square-foot restaurant at Nocatee and Crosswater parkways, north of 355 Pine Lake Drive. That project remains unidentified.

The land is owned by Sonoc Company LLC, which partners with The PARC Group, Nocatee’s developer. Chick-fil-A had expressed interest in the Nocatee site as far back as 2023 and began the permitting process with St. Johns County, but the project did not move forward at that time.

Chick-fil-A currently operates 24 restaurants in Northeast Florida, including locations at The Avenues mall and on the campuses of Flagler College, Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida.

Another location is proposed off of International Golf Parkway at a future Walmart Supercenter outparcel.
