Leadership has its privileges. Wesley Chapel Republican Will Weatherford, who is slated to become House speaker after the 2012 elections, collected $190,300 in campaign contributions between July 1 and September 30 — far outdistancing all other House candidates.

Ray offers to step down from Waterways

State Rep. Lake Ray offered to step down from the Jacksonville Waterways Commission if its members had an issue with his attendance, the subject of a recent Folio Weekly editorial.Ray attended the commission’s meeting Wednesday.The editorial also referred to his recent appointment as president of the First Coast Manufacturers Association.
