• In addition to Mayor John Peyton’s proposed $972 million budget, a couple of other big budgets were made public this week. The Jacksonville Aviation Authority plans to submit a 2008-09 fiscal year budget of $132.85 million, an increase of 8.61 percent from last year. The JAA budget includes 251 full-time positions. The Jacksonville Port Authority plans to submit a 2008-09 fiscal year budget of $656.85 million, an increase of 89.69 percent due primarily to the new cargo terminals and shipping contracts. The Port plans to employ 165 people on a full-time basis.
