Breeze Airways, which is rolling out nonstop service from Jacksonville International Airport to eight cities, launched its first flight to Richmond, Virginia, on May 19.

“Breeze connects cities with nonstop flights where only connecting service has been offered by other airlines – and Jacksonville is an underserved market which deserves many more nonstops,” Breeze Airways’ Chairman and CEO David Neeleman said in a news release.

“We’re looking forward to giving our Northeast Florida guests many more nice, convenient, and affordable flights to their favorite destinations.”

Breeze also said it reached a partnership with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, the Triple-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Miami Marlins.

Breeze said the deal will give it a presence at Jumbo Shrimp home games and include some ticket giveaways.

Breeze Vice President of Guest Empowerment and Airport Operations Danny Cox will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the 7 p.m. May 19 Jumbo Shrimp game against the Durham Bulls.

Here is the schedule for Breeze service. The company says fares for some routes start as low as $49.
