It appears that a Dollar General is planned in Springfield.

The city issued a Mobility Fee Calculation Certificate to Concept Development LLC, a Dollar General developer, for a site at 119 W. Eighth St.

Concept Development proposes a free-standing 9,100-square-foot retail store on 1.05 acres at northeast Eighth and Silver streets.

The city calculated a $53,011 fee to mitigate the traffic impacts. The application calls it a free-standing discount store but does not identify Dollar General.

Ash building three-story retail, office building

Ash Construction LLC plans to build a three-story office and retail building in Hampton Village in Baymeadows.

Plans show the almost 52,000-square-foot building will comprise retail on the first floor and office tenant spaces on the second and third levels.

Each floor is more than 17,000 square feet.

The shell building will be constructed at 7807 Baymeadows Road E. at a cost of $536,000, according to a permit application.

Atlantic Engineering Services is the civil engineer and Rolland, DelValle & Bradley is the architect.

An Ash Properties representative could not be reached for comment.

Town Center stores on move; Clarks shoe store closing

There’s a store shuffle at St. Johns Town Center. Clarks will close its shoe store this weekend at 4791 River City Drive in St. Johns Town Center.

It was one of the initial tenants in the shopping center’s second phase, which opened in 2007.

Across River City Drive, the Kendra Scott jewelry store is expected to open Feb. 1. It will go in near the storefront that Buttons & Bows vacated for a move near Athleta.

Lilly Pulitzer is planned in the former Buttons & Bows site.
