Huey’s Nashville Hot Chicken, owned by Nashville native Hughes Brown and his family, announced May 14 it will open in 3,100 square feet at 1173 Edgewood Ave. S. in Murray Hill.
It will feature hot chicken dishes, including the classic hot chicken, entrée salad versions and Southern sides in a fast-casual environment.
The menu will include fried and grilled chicken options, with multiple heat levels available.
The location will seat up to 100 people inside. Additional patio seating will be available outdoors.
The restaurant is scheduled to open in May. The dining room will follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for social distancing.
The city issued a permit May 18 for the shell building for First Watch, The Daytime Cafe, at 9271 Baymeadows Road in Baymeadows Park.
Tim Young Construction Inc. is the contractor for the 3,600-square-foot structure at a cost of $644,955.
The interior work will be separately permitted. The city is reviewing an application for a $300,000 build-out.
The city issued a permit for Coastal Contractors Inc. to build-out, remodel and convert a 5,488-square-foot building at 2130 Kings Ave. for the 180-seat Tepeyolot Cerveceria at a cost of $443,000.

The city is reviewing a permit application for Rocky’s NYC Street Food at 8324 Merchants Way in OakLeaf Station.
Premier American Construction Inc. of Green Cove Springs is the contractor for the $88,000 project to build-out 1,377 square feet of space.
