How did you become involved? I was asked to handle a case pro bono for the Jacksonville Jewish and Family Community Services in 1993. I have been on the board as an active or honorary member since then.

How can someone else become involved? Call someone you know or any nonprofit agency, attend a meeting or a fundraising event and volunteer to serve on a committee. You will never regret your involvement.

What have you learned/achieved through the experience? There are so many ways to serve the community and to help less fortunate people. It’s so rewarding to give back to the community and to help people in need.

What was the last book you read or are reading? “Sycamore Row” by John Grisham
