North Carolina-based Quality Restaurant Group announced July 28 it purchased 12 Sonic Drive-In locations in Northeast Florida for an undisclosed price.

QRG’s Quality Drive-In division will operate the restaurants.

Sonic Drive-In’s website lists six Jacksonville locations, one in St. Augustine, two in Orange Park and one each in Yulee, Starke and Palatka.

The Greensboro, North Carolina-based group owns Moe’s Southwest Grill, Pizza Hut, Arby’s and Sonic Drive-In restaurants in 15 states.

Quality Drive-In Vice President Jason McNeill said in a news release that the group plans to make “significant capital improvements” to the properties. It also plans to build new Sonic locations in Jacksonville “in the very near future.”

“This is a major opportunity for us as an organization. We strive to be operational leaders and use data to grow and make decisions,” QRG CFO Matt Zeiger said in the release.

“I am looking forward to working with these restaurants in Jacksonville to serve our customers and the brand better.”

QRG has added 150 restaurant locations in the past two years. The Jacksonville Sonic acquisitions take the company to 100 restaurant locations in Florida.
