Just over a year ago, Fidelity National Information Services Inc. Chairman, President and CEO Gary Norcross announced plans to build a 12-story, 300,000-square-foot world headquarters along Riverside Avenue.
Now those plans are coming out of the ground as FIS has begun construction, seeking $156 million in permits and leading the Jacksonville Daily Record and Record & Observer list of the Top Construction Projects of 2020 in Northeast Florida.
Together, the 10 projects total an investment of more than $653 million and reflect a diversity of projects including health care, distribution, apartments and industrial work.
Behind that investment are the contractors, developers, architects and engineers that are bringing the visions into focus and reshaping the region’s skyline.
Staff created the list of construction projects and their values using research from permits issued over the past year.
