Builders Care, the charitable arm of the Northeast Florida Builders Association, recently completed the renovation of the recreation center at daniel, a nonprofit agency that assists Jacksonville children and families.

“The newly renovated recreation room is a great space for the kids at daniel to enjoy,” said Chris Simons, executive director of Builders Care. “We appreciate everyone who helped to make this wonderful project possible.”

The renovation of the recreation room located at daniel’s Southside Jacksonville campus was completed in three days with the support of Builders Care, NEFBA and its Sales and Marketing Council (SMC), Womenade and Lennar Homes. Demolition crews removed the room’s ceiling, electrical and carpeting, and added new drywall, plaster, moulding, carpeting and recessed lighting. The renovation also included a bathroom. The project included more than $18,000 in donated materials and labor, with another $8,000 to fund furnishings and equipment including televisions, books, DVDs and video games.

daniel provides counseling, foster care and adoption services to Jacksonville children and families.
