Past president Greg Matovina has been elected chairman of the 2013-14 board of directors of Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville (HabiJax).
The HabiJax board has 26 members who are tasked with promoting the mission and vision of HabiJax – to build and renovate high-quality affordable housing and advocate of behalf of those in need and to serve as a partner and catalyst to create safe and sustainable communities. They also act in a governance role for the organization.
Matovina is well-known in the association for his dedication to providing housing solutions to those who need it most. The 2004 president spearheaded the construction project for Trinity Women and Children’s Center, an emergency shelter for homeless women and children, which opened its doors in 2006.
Matovina also serves on the board of directors of Builders Care, NEFBA’s charitable arm that upgrades substandard housing and partners with HabiJax to build new homes.
