It sounds impossible – 25 homes in seven days – but that is exactly what NEFBA accomplished in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville (HabiJax) for its 2013 President’s Project.
With the assistance of hundreds of volunteers, NEFBA and HabiJax built more than two dozen new homes in Jacksonville’s New Town neighborhood for families who have applied for HabiJax’s homeownership program. NEFBA members donated construction management and leadership services free of charge as well as materials and labor to complete the project.
“I am so proud of the high level of involvement in this important community project,” said NEFBA President Dennis Ginder. “Our members’ commitment has been a key to the success of this initiative, and I am deeply grateful. I am thrilled to be part of such a rewarding project in the Northeast Florida building community. All of us at NEFBA are proud to give back to our great community and help make the dream of homeownership a reality for more families.”
