from JAXUSA leader

For anyone with an idle curiosity about economic development in Jacksonville and new projects on the horizon, the SMC breakfast meeting May 9 will be interesting and enlightening.

For anyone in the real estate and development industries, it is essential.

The featured speaker is Aaron Bowman, senior vice president of business development for the JAXUSA Partnership, a private, nonprofit division of the JAX Chamber and Northeast Florida’s regional economic development initiative.

In addition to the JAX Chamber, JAXUSA works with seven regional county partners, CareerSource Northeast Florida, JEA, JAXPORT, Jacksonville Aviation Authority, Jacksonville Transportation Authority, and more than 175 private-sector investor corporate entities in the area.

Bowman’s primary focus is on the development and relocation of aviation, aerospace and advanced manufacturing companies to Northeast Florida.

He sits on numerous boards in both the professional and private sectors, and was appointed commissioner of the Duval County Florida Inland Navigation District by Gov. Rick Scott.

Bowman served 28 years in the United States Navy and retired as a captain after serving as the commanding officer of Naval Station Mayport. In addition to his distinguished naval career, Bowman has a master’s degree in business administration.

Bowman’s experience and expertise coupled with his insider information on new projects headed our way make this another don’t-miss SMC breakfast meeting.
