A recent story in the Broward County/Palm Beach Sun Sentinel (Oct. 31. 2014, Marsha Pounds reporting) citing University of Central Florida economist Sean Snaith bodes well for the construction industry.

A recently released forecast says construction jobs in Florida are expected to grow faster than jobs in other industries for the next two to three years.

According to Snaith, growth in construction jobs will be 10.4 percent, while jobs in trade, transportation and utilities (includes retail) will grow at a rate of 3.8 percent; professional and business services at 3.6 percent; education and health services, 2.2 percent; and leisure and hospitality, 2 percent.

“Bottom line is Florida’s economy is improving and finally hitting its stride,” Snaith told the Sun Sentinel.
