As of the end of August, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties report steady activity in issuing new-construction residential permits. Nationally, a Reuters report suggests the U.S. economy “got off to a strong start in the third quarter.”
“The housing market is a leading light of the economy and it looks like that will be the case for a while. My take is the economy is moving forward solidly,” Joel Naroff, chief economist at Naroff Economic Advisors in Holland, Pa., said in the report.
