NEFBA is proud of Corey Deal, our executive officer.

Deal has been selected as one of the Jacksonville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. He assumed the leadership role here in September 2013.

Deal’s selection turns the spotlight on the NEFBA team for its contribution to the community and its unique accomplishments.

The Jacksonville Business Journal honors 40 of the area’s top performing professionals each year based on their accomplishments of the preceding year, their career record of high performance and service to the community.

Accomplishments of NEFBA under Deal’s guidance during 2015 included increasing the membership of the trade association, enhancements and enlargements to NEFBA’s Apprenticeship Program and helping restore the association’s charitable arm, Builders Care, to its original mission in serving the area’s most vulnerable citizens.

“It is an honor to accept this award on behalf of the great team of members and staff of our great association,” Deal said. “It’s a privilege to serve alongside so many talented, dedicated builders and associates to improve the quality of life in Northeast Florida.

“Many thanks to our executive committee, our President Chet Skinner and all our past presidents for their expert advice and guidance,” Deal continued. “NEFBA is building on its 72-year legacy of serving not only the construction industry but the entire Northeast Florida community.”

Deal was NEFBA’s government affairs director before leaving to pursue a law degree. He returned to NEFBA in 2013, when then-executive officer Daniel Davis, former City Council president and former state legislator, accepted the position as CEO of JAX Chamber.

Deal and his wife, Teahna, welcomed their first child, Jackson, into their lives in February.

Deal and 39 other recipients of the 40 under 40 award will be honored in a special section of the Jacksonville Business Journal April 29 and at an awards event April 26.

Congratulations to Corey Deal, NEFBA President Chet Skinner and all our past presidents, the executive committee, the board of directors and each and every NEFBA member.

NEFBA’s legacy grows along with our pride in our association.
