Bed Bath & Beyond intends to open one of its andThat! stores, plus an annex for it, along Southside Boulevard in Timberlin Village, where it already operates one of its namesake stores and a buybuy Baby.

AndThat! is a subsidiary of Christmas Tree Shops, part of Bed Bath & Beyond. It sells home furnishings, housewares, food, gifts and seasonal products, among other items, at discounted prices.

It will open between PetSmart and buybuy Baby in the former OfficeMax. The annex, which appears to be set up as for pre-sales and receiving, is slated for a separate vacant building at the southern end of the shopping center.

The city is reviewing permit applications for andThat! in those two locations – the 23,500-square-foot former OfficeMax store at 8801 Southside Blvd., No. 7, and at a vacant 14,401-square-foot building at 8805 Southside Blvd.

Build-out could total at least $1.5 million. T.D. Farrell Construction Inc. of Alpharetta, Ga., is the contractor.

Bed Bath & Beyond, based in Union, N.J., bought the almost 124,000-square-foot shopping center, on 10.4 acres, in October 2011 for $13.5 million.

Bed Bath & Beyond bought Christmas Tree Shops in 2003. In 2012, new stores opened under the names andThat! or Christmas Tree Shops andThat!. The changes were made to reflect the stores’ assortment of year-round merchandise.

About 70 of the stores operate in at least 21 areas.
