More than 200 apprentices were on hand for a feast of barbecue, games, competition, prizes and a holiday celebration at the NEFBA office Dec. 15.

The meal of pulled pork, beans, cole slaw and banana pudding was catered by Bill Wilson Inspections. Apprentice trades committees and fourth-year apprentices hosted the event.

Apprentices donned their red Apprenticeship Program shirts as they served guests.

“We wanted to let the apprentices know how much we appreciate the effort they have put into their studies this year,” said NEFBA Training Vice President Keith Ward.

“This was an opportunity to pull together all of our apprentices in one place. We hold classes in four different facilities, and this is the one time of the year we all can come together,” he said.

Activities included a triathlon of darts, miniature golf and cornhole.

Winners received gift cards and ball caps with the Apprenticeship Program logo.

There were also trade skills competitions in nail driving, pipe bending and hacksawing contests.
