Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc. on Tuesday said it appointed Peter Menziuso to the role of president, North America, for the Jacksonville-based contact lens maker.
He succeeds Laura Angelini, who has accepted a leadership position within Johnson & Johnson, the company said in a news release, but it did not give details. Angelini came to Jacksonville in September 2013 to run the vision care business for the New Jersey-based medical products giant.
Menziuso has been with Johnson & Johnson for 20 years in positions of increasing responsibility, the company said.
Most recently, he served as worldwide vice president of marketing for the Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Care Companies.
He takes over the vision care business on March 14.
Johnson & Johnson Vision Care produces contact lenses under the Acuvue brand name.
The business produced U.S. sales of $997 million in 2015 and total global sales of $2.6 billion.
The business traces its roots to a company called Frontier Contact Lens Co. that began in the 1950s and was acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 1981.
