Land Trust buys 463 acres

North Florida Land Trust paid $1,126,820 for 463 acres near Camp Blanding in Clay County. The land is within the Ocala to Osceola Wildlife Corridor, a 1.6 million-acre network of public and private lands connecting the Ocala and Osceola National Forests.

The trust said the property provides habitat for wildlife species and helps to buffer the military installation. It connects Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park to the trust’s Robert R. Milam Jr. Preserve.
