Simon, which owns the St. Johns Town Center and The Avenues Mall, announced it would close all its U.S. properties at 7 p.m. March 18.

The St. Augustine Premium Outlets also will close.

The properties will remain closed until March 29.

"The health and safety of our shoppers, retailers and employees is of paramount importance and we are taking this step to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our communities," said David Simon, Simon chairman, president and CEO.

St. Johns Town Center comprises the shops from True Food Kitchen and The Capital Grille on the southern end, north to Staples, Ross and Target on the north.

Target says it will remain open.

Simon does not own The Markets at Town Center, The Crossing and The Strand at Town Center, Town Center Promenade or St. John's Town Center North.

Those properties had not announced closures as of the afternoon of March 18, although individual retailers within them may have changed hours or closed temporarily.
