Corner Lot Development Group announced its Help Local Thrive Again initiative March 24, designed to help small businesses through a time of financial uncertainty.

The website,, lists ways people can help small businesses that may be shut down partially or entirely during the coronavirus outbreak. It suggests people buy gift cards, purchase merchandise or donate to the companies.

Businesses that sign on agree to match the first $500 raised with gift cards to donate to first responders and medical personnel.

“During a panic, it’s normal to think about your family first and then your business. After navigating my initial shock, I wanted to see how I could help our community who have been hit hard first. Our restaurants are a part of our everyday life. When they suffer, we all suffer,” said Andy Allen, CEO of Corner Lot Development Group.

Businesses can register on the website so customers can be linked to their pages, where they can make to-go orders, buy gift cards or other merchandise.

Help Local Thrive Again has 12 businesses signed on so far, including Maple Street Biscuit Co., Jumpin’ Jax House of Food, Florida Cracker Cafe and Bold Bean Coffee Roasters.

In addition to Corner Lot Development, the initiative is sponsored by Lifestyle Marketing and Money Pages.

“We look forward to seeing how far this really goes,” Allen said.
