Jacksonville-based Southeastern Grocers Inc., the parent company of Winn-Dixie, Harveys Supermarket, Bi-Lo and Fresco y Mas locations, is installing protective Plexiglas partitions in all stores.

The partitions are part of the effort to safeguard customers and associates from the spread of the COVID-19 virus, according to a news release.

The partitions will be placed at all cash registers, customer service desks, pharmacies and liquor store counters.

The stores also will begin additional social distancing protocols following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance to maintain a 6-foot distance between customers and associates, along with regulated in-store occupancy standards.

Southeastern Grocers operates 550 stores in Florida and six other Southeastern states.
