Real estate deals: Pro golfer Fred Funk sells, retired Jaguar Paul Posluszny buys

Athletes with Jacksonville ties are involved in separate home transactions.

Two professional athletes with Jacksonville ties were involved in recent real estate transactions.

Fred Funk

Golfer Fred Funk and his wife, Sharon, sold a house at 4413  Hunterston Lane in Glen Kernan for $2.45 million on Dec. 5. The deed lists Funk’s home address as Willis, Texas.

The buyer was Abdallah Mohamed Jeroudi and his wife, Safa Shabarek. Jeroudi is an ophthalmologist with The Florida Retina Institute.

The two-story, 4,582-square-foot home looks out onto the Glen Kernan Golf Course. It was built in 2014 on 0.61 acre.

It has five bedrooms, four baths and one half bath. It features a three-car garage, pool and a fire pit.

Funk bought it for $2.495 million in 2023.

Funk is an eight-time winner on the PGA Tour including winning The Players Championship in 2005. He has played on the PGA Tour Champions since 2006. He has 29 professional wins worldwide.

Paul Posluszny

Former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny and his wife, Elizabeth, bought a house at 334 11th St. in Atlantic Beach, for $4.3 million on Dec. 8. 

The seller was Michael J. Davis of Jacksonville Beach.

The two-story home is 5,785 square feet and was built in 2025 on 0.26 acres.

It includes a two-car garage, saltwater pool and an outdoor kitchen.

The property previously sold for $1.05 million in 2013.

Posluszny played 11 years in the NFL starting in Buffalo in 2007. He joined the Jaguars in 2011 where he finished his career after the 2017 season.
