A closed PDQ in Julington Creek is primed for conversion into Saucy, a concept backed by KFC Corp. that sells chicken tenders and 11 sauces.
The third Saucy identified in Northeast Florida, the 4,550-square-foot restaurant was permitted for build-out Dec. 29 at 194 Florida 13 N. in St. Johns County. The project cost is $375,000, according to the permit.
Fort Lauderdale-based Falcon Franchise Construction LLC is the contractor.
The eatpdq.com site says the Julington Creek store was closed as of Dec. 16.

Other Saucy restaurants planned in the region are at 4816 Gate Parkway and 3260 Hodges Blvd. A PDQ store in Bartram Park remains open and has not been identified for conversion. The eatpdq.com site shows 39 locations in Florida, three in North Carolina and one in New Jersey.
Saucy by KFC is operated by KFC Corp., a subsidiary of Yum! Brands Inc. based in Louisville, Kentucky. Yum! Brands include KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Habit Burger.

The kfc.com site says the Dec. 23, 2024, debut of Saucy in Orlando introduced “a flavor-forward dining destination offering chicken tender lovers the chance to dip, dunk and customize their meal with 11 sauces,” a nod to the 11 herbs and spices in KFC’s Original Recipe fried chicken.
Sauces include five flavors of ranch along with Thai sweet and spicy, sweet and saucy barbecue, spicy mango chutney, creole honey mustard, sweet teriyaki and “Saucy’s Sauce.”
Saucy also serves 11 beverages, including teas and freezes, plus sandwiches and combos that include three-piece tenders with a toasted roll, fries and a medium drink and choice of sauce for $7.99.
