A fast-food restaurant is exploring a Nocatee site previously under consideration for such use.
Jacksonville utility JEA approved a service availability determination request June 16 for a 4,847-square-foot restaurant at Nocatee and Crosswater parkways, north of 355 Pine Lake Drive.
A service availability request does not confirm a project but indicates the site is being considered for development.
The property is owned by Sonoc Company LLC, which partners with The PARC Group, Nocatee’s developer.
Chick-fil-A was interested in the site in 2023 and started the permitting process with St. Johns County, but it did not move forward.
While the current proposal has not been confirmed as a Chick-fil-A, the 4,847-square-foot footprint is among the size it uses.
The applicant and project engineer, Atlanta-based Foresite Group, has developed Chick-fil-A sites in Georgia and Mississippi.
Chick-fil-A, based in Atlanta, operates 24 restaurants in Northeast Florida, including at The Avenues mall and on the campuses of Flagler College, Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida.
