Dunkin’ will hold a groundbreaking for its first Hastings store at 11 a.m. July 11.
The shop planned at 8800 W. Church St. is owned by franchisees John and Jean Griffey and Brian and Beth Ramos. Construction will officially begin July 14, with plans to open by the end of the year, according to a news release.
Hastings is about 19 miles southeast of St. Augustine in St. Johns County. Including the Hastings location, there are 14 Dunkin’ stores in St. Johns County.
With Hastings known for farming, a tractor will be used for the ceremonial dig instead of shovels.
The release says the 1,600-square-foot shop will employ 25 crew members and will operate daily from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Dunkin’, founded in 1950, is the largest coffee and donuts brand in the U.S., with more than 14,000 locations in almost 40 global markets. It is part of the Inspire Brands portfolio of restaurants.
