Drive-thru chain Ellianos Coffee could return to Baker County.
A store that operated at 793 W. Macclenny Ave. closed and was replaced by The Sheik Sandwiches and Subs.
The St. Johns River Water Management District began reviewing plans for a new one Oct. 23 and determined an environmental resource permit was not required because the project is proposed on a fully developed property.

Plans for the new store show an 883-square-foot building on a vacant outparcel at 1452 Sixth St. S. in the Winn-Dixie-anchored Macclenny Shopping Center, about a quarter-mile north of Interstate 10.
According to the Baker County Property Appraiser, the landowner is The Realty Group of Florida LLC. Hollywood-based NV5 is the civil engineer.
The closest Ellianos Coffee to the Macclenny site is 17 miles away at 619 Chaffee Road S. in Jacksonville.
According to ellianos.com, there are nine Ellianos locations in Northeast Florida: five in Jacksonville and one each in Fernandina Beach, Orange Park, Middleburg and Saint Johns. The site says more are planned.
Scott and Pam Stewart founded Lake City-based Ellianos in 2002. The chain serves its beverages through a double-sided drive-thru kiosk.
Food items vary by location and include breakfast bowls, sandwiches, bagels, pastries and snacks. Hours also vary, typically opening at 6-8 a.m. and closing at 6-9 p.m.
