Chipotle Mexican Grill and Panda Express are planned on outparcels at the proposed Walmart Supercenter property in St. Johns County.
The Supercenter is at 405 International Golf Parkway, about 2 miles west of Buc-ee’s, Costco and Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World at World Commerce Center.
Other projects planned on outparcels there include a Chick-fil-A and a Chase Bank. Signs are at the cleared site that say the store is coming, but it has not received building permits yet.
Chipotle Mexican Grill
The county is reviewing plans submitted Oct. 1 by Jacksonville-based civil engineer Bowman Consulting Group for Chipotle.
It would be the chain’s fourth St. Johns County location.
Gatlin Development Group, through IGP WCC Project LLC, is listed as the project owner. The application shows a freestanding, 2,300-square-foot store on Outparcel 2 of the Walmart site.
Chipotle is also developing a restaurant at 4285 U.S. 1 S., Suite 1, in front of the Publix-anchored Moultrie Square shopping center south of Wildwood Drive. It replaces a Wells Fargo branch that closed in May 2024. Sign permits were issued Aug. 28.
The Tex-Mex chain opened in June in the Beachwalk community. Its St. Augustine restaurant at 1753 U.S. 1 S., opened in 2021.
Panda Express Chinese Kitchen
Panda Express Chinese Kitchen is also planned at the Supercenter site.
The 2,614-square-foot fast-food restaurant is at Parcel 2D. Bowman Consulting Group is the civil engineer.
It would be the third Panda Express in St. Johns County.
Its location at 575 Beachwalk Shore Drive in Saint Johns opened Dec. 18 and another at 1934 U.S. 1 in St. Augustine opened in 2012.
The St. Johns County Development Review Committee is scheduled to discuss both projects Nov. 5.
