The city of Jacksonville will transition civil plan and plat reviews into the Jacksonville Enterprise Permitting, Inspections and Compliance System (JaxEPICS) beginning Feb. 28, the city announced Feb. 26.
With the change, civil plans, plats and related development approvals will now be managed in the online portal. The move will make it easier for engineers, surveyors, developers and reviewers to track progress and communicate clearly, the city said in a news release.
JaxEPICS will allow engineers to independently initial revisions to approved plans, see target review timelines, make online invoice payments, review comments tied to plans, and more.
“These improvements remove friction from the review process and give both applicants and City staff better tools to collaborate and move projects forward,” Nina Sickler, the city’s director of public works, said in a statement.
“JaxEPICS provides clearer visibility, faster coordination, and a more transparent process for Jacksonville’s development community,” Mayor Donna Deegan said.
“This is another important step toward making our City easier to build and invest in.”
The Feb. 28 launch is part of a phased rollout, the city said. Additional guidance, resources and training opportunities will be shared in coming weeks.
