The St. Johns Riverkeeper celebrated its 10th anniversary Wednesday as the independent voice of the St. Johns River as more than 300 supporters during a luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. Cynthia Barnett (middle), Florida Trend senior writer and author, spoke about Florida’s water mistakes and the need for a path to a sustainable water future. St. Johns Riverkeeper Neil Armingeon (right) and Executive Director Jimmy Orth also spoke and praised attendees for their commitment to the St. Johns River. “It’s a day of reflection and looking at the accomplishments of the last 10 years,” said Orth. “But I’ve always said it’s important not to rest on your laurels. We still have a lot of important work to do.”
