Members of the Meninak Club of Jacksonville heard from Fred Meiners (second from left), executive director of Seamark Ranch, during its weekly meeting Monday. Located in Clay County, Seamark Ranch accepts children in crises age 6–16 and provides them with a home and educational opportunities through a “traditional home” environment. Funded solely through private donations, the organization opened in 2007 and currently has 11 children under its wings, with more than 30 coming through its doors since inception. Seamark has twice been a finalist for the annual Meninak Charity Project, which as Meninak President Bunky Johnson (far right) says shows their extreme worth to the community while causing the project committee stress from picking from several organizations each year. Meiners was joined at the program by Seamark Development Director Dale Pirkle (far left), Business and Finance Director Mandi Landau (middle) and founding board member Brenda Davis (second from right).
