The indicted former JEA CEO and his wife sold the property for almost double the 2019 purchase price.
Indicted former JEA CEO Aaron F. Zahn and his wife, Mary Branan Ennis Zahn, sold their Jacksonville Beach house for $2.375 million on April 29.
The deed was recorded May 13 with the Duval County Clerk of Courts.
While the sale price is $575,000 below the Zahns’ original asking price, the couple sold the property for almost double their January 2019 purchase price of $1.182 million, property records show.
The Zahns sold the home to Aaron and Tammy Sheeks of St. Johns County.
The Zahns originally listed the house at 307 S. 15th St. for $2.95 million Feb. 25, the week before Aaron Zahn was indicted March 2 in the U.S. District Court, Middle District Jacksonville Division on federal charges of conspiracy and wire fraud.
The 7,371-square-foot two-story house has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
On May 2, Zahn’s attorney filed a motion asking the court to allow him to move to another home. The release bond specified such permission had to be granted if he wanted to move during the court process.
The Zahns list a Jacksonville post office box as their address on the deed.
The trial of Zahn and former JEA CFO Ryan Wannemacher is expected to begin in May 2023.
Zahn, 42, and Wannemacher, 40, were indicted on one count each of conspiracy and one count each of federal wire fraud after a two-year grand jury investigation into their roles in the attempt to sell the city-owned utility in 2019.
