Joyce Development Group is completing plans for the five-story retail center to feature a hotel, restaurants and office space.
Baymeadows Park continues toward development on the site of a former golf club.
Civil engineer Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc. submitted revised site plans to the city and the St. Johns River Water Management District, and the city issued a mobility fee calculation certificate May 24 for a $419,470 fee to mitigate the project’s traffic impact.
It replaced a calculation of $350,708 in November.
The $15 million, 95,000-square-foot park is planned on 5.8 acres at Baymeadows Road and Baymeadows Circle East, east of Interstate 95 on the site of the former Baymeadows Golf Club.
Joyce Development Group LLC plans five buildings comprising a 64,225-square-foot, 120-room suites hotel; 3,500-square-foot and 7,980-square-foot high-turnover restaurants; a 2,515-square-foot coffee shop with a drive-thru; and a 16,780-square-foot, two-story building with restaurant, office and medical office space.
In November, developer John Joyce said his Jacksonville-based group would announce the committed tenants at a spring groundbreaking.
Joyce couldn’t be reached for comment but District 11 City Council member Danny Becton said he expects an announcement “any moment now.”
Joyce Development Group LLC is negotiating with several hotel developers, restaurants and retailers for Baymeadows Park. Joyce said he expects to complete the project in summer 2020.
The architect is RDL Architects Inc.
D.R. Horton Inc.-Jacksonville sold 5.79 acres on Sept. 19 to Baymeadows Park LLC for $2.4 million. D.R. Horton plans to develop single-family and townhomes at the former Baymeadows Golf Club.
Baymeadows Park is described as a scaled-down version of the development group’s Tapestry Park project along Southside Boulevard.
