In his quest for a second term, Mayor Alvin Brown raised $105,000 in March, according to campaign finance reports filed Thursday.

Locally, he raised more than $21,000, down from the $26,000 he raised in February.

He raised $84,000 through a “Taking Jacksonville to the Next Level” political action committee, all of which came in the last four days of the month.

The largest contributors through the state funds were Anne Pacjic ($25,000), George H. Hodges Trust ($25,000) and Waste Pro ($10,000).

Other 2015 races of note:

• The race to succeed Sheriff John Rutherford now has seven hopefuls, led in contributions by Jay Farhat with more than $88,000 since filing two months ago. Jimmy Holderfield has raised $76,000 in five months, while Mike Williams has brought in more than $55,000 in two months. Also in their first months were Rob Schoonover ($10,000) and Ken Jefferson ($9,000).

• One of the higher-funded council races continued to collect. In the race for City Council At Large Group 1, incumbent Kim Daniels has raised more than $107,000, with $76,000 coming from self-loans. In March, she raised more than $6,000. Her closest competitor is Anna Broche, who has raised close to $88,000 in three months. In March, she raised $27,000.

• More than 70 people have entered the 2015 races. The most crowded council race is District 7 to succeed Johnny Gaffney. Six of the eight candidates have raised funds, led by Richard Cuff with more than $16,000 — though it’s all been through a self-loan. District 8 has seven candidates, led by Terry Fields’ almost $28,000 raised.

• With Mike Weinstein transferring to challenge Matt Shirk in the Public Defender race and Marc El Hassan withdrawing, council At Large Group 3 has four candidates remaining. Geoff Youngblood leads fundraising efforts with $80,000 — though $50,000 was a self-loan. As of Friday morning, Youngblood’s March report was not updated.

• Several races still have solo contenders: property appraiser (Jerry Holland), tax collector (Mike Corrigan), supervisor of elections (Tracie Davis), council District 3 (James Nealis), District 6 (Matt Schellenberg), District 11 (Danny Becton), District 12 (Doyle Carter) and District 13 (Bill Gulliford).

The next reporting deadline for campaign finances is May 10.
