Cinemark plans to open a 12-screen movie theater at The Pavilion at Durbin Park by fall 2019, the company announced Monday.

“Cinemark is proud to bring the ultimate moviegoing experience to The Pavilion at Durbin Park,” Cinemark CEO Mark Zoradi said in a news release.

The company said the theater will feature Cinemark’s XD auditorium technology, 4K digital projection and RealD 3D capability.

Cinemark said all auditoriums will feature its “Luxury Loungers,” electric-powered, plush, oversize recliners with footrests and cup holders.

The Pavilion at Durbin Park is under development in northern St. Johns County. Almost 20 retailers and restaurants, including Walmart and The Home Depot, are signed.

The Pavilion at Durbin Park is a joint-venture development between GATE Petroleum Company and Gatlin Development Company.

“Joining Walmart, Home Depot, Burlington and Petco, the theatre will anchor our family entertainment wing, which will have a collection of sit-down restaurants in a beautifully landscaped environment,” said Frank Gatlin III, CEO and president of Gatlin Development.

The first stores at The Pavilion are expected to open by the end of the year. Walmart has been seeking hundreds of workers for its store.

Cinemark Holdings Inc., operates 539 theatres with 5,998 screens in 41 U.S. states and Latin America.
