The committee searching for the next president at Florida State College at Jacksonville said Friday it anticipates filling the position by spring.
Former president Cynthia Bioteau retired May 31. The college is being led on an interim basis by Foley & Lardner partner Kevin Hyde, who said he is not interested in the permanent job.
FSCJ is working with Washington, D.C.-based AGB Search. The firm is being paid $90,000, plus expenses estimated from $10,000 to $15,000.
AGB Search will visit FSCJ on Nov. 27-28 to interview faculty, staff, students, administrators and business groups for ideas on the ideal candidate. The search group also plans to hold an open forum for feedback.
T.R. “Mac” McGehee Jr. and Michael Bell are co-chairs of the presidential search committee.
McGehee said the committee anticipates the selection to be complete in five to six months from AGB’s visit.
Roderick J. McDavis and Fred Moore are leading the AGB Search team.
McDavis is the managing principal of AGB Search. He served as president of Ohio University for 13 years and held academic and administrative positions at the University of Florida, the University of Arkansas and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Moore served 22 years as president of Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. He also was vice president for development and general counsel at North Carolina Wesleyan College.
