Mayor John Delaney’s chief of staff Audrey Moran presented a proclamation to Johnnie and Rita Smith of Berisford Photography during a party Thursday night at the Seminole Club. “I’ve got a lighter and a wife and luckily both of them work,” said Johnnie Smith, crediting his wife Rita with the success of Berisford Photography, the framing and glamour shot studio they’ve run on Adams Street for more than 30 years. The Smiths closed the shop recently, which is located on the site of the new Duval County Courthouse. Smith said the couple will do some traveling on their boat, but indicated that they may open a new photography shop downtown in a few months.
