Atlanta-based Dewberry Group filed plans with the city to demolish and rebuild space at Roosevelt Square.

The company applied for an expedited mobility fee calculation certificate that shows 101,691 square feet of space will be demolished for construction of 93,275 square feet.

The redevelopment’s address is 4529 Roosevelt Blvd. Mark Dowst & Associates Inc. of Daytona Beach is the agent.

Plans show space to be demolished includes parts of the parking lot.

The new construction primarily involves buildings next to the Publix supermarket and at the southwestern end in front of the Metro Diner-anchored building.

Other new construction is shown around the site.

Dewberry intends to rebrand the 58-year-old shopping center as Ortega Park, add apartments and develop the Ortega Alley retail shops.

The city is reviewing building permits for the project.

Dewberrygroup.com says Ortega Park will grow to nearly 700,000 square feet and include shopping, dining and Class A multifamily units.

Dewberry Group has not commented about the project, but it appears to be an investment of at least $70 million.
