Restaurant Notes: Outback Crab Shack issued permit to build-out in St. Augustine

Panera to Parkway Village, OakLeaf; Chipotle at Boulevard Crossing.

 St. Johns County issued a permit for build-out of 9,800 square for Outback Crab Shack at 8155 County Road 13 N. in St. Augustine at a cost of $500,000. 

Jacksonville-based Sleiman Enterprises announced July 22 that Outback Crab Shack will return to St. Augustine and open in the spring.

St. Johns County issued a permit June 11 for construction of the restaurant shell and deck at a cost of $408,112.

Ladson Construction Co. LLC is the contractor.

Sleiman Enterprises said Outback Crab Shack opened in 1984. Hurricane Matthew destroyed the original Outback Crab Shack in 2016.

Sleiman Enterprises bought the property with plans to lease it to Nathan Stuart and Margo Klar, who own six family seafood restaurants in St. Augustine, Jacksonville and Tallahassee.

Panera to Parkway Village, OakLeaf

The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing applications for two Panera restaurants in St. Johns County and in OakLeaf.

In St. Johns County, Panera wants to build at Parkway Village.

The 3,553-square-foot restaurant and drive-thru is planned on 1.09 acres along Village Commons Drive near International Golf Parkway.

Parkway Village is a venture of Cantrell & Morgan and Stiles. 

Panera also wants to build at Crosshill Boulevard and Merchants Way in OakLeaf Town Center in Southwest Jacksonville.

 The 3,557-square-foot restaurant would include patio seating and a drive-thru.

Chipotle at Boulevard Crossing

The city and the St. Johns River Water Management District are reviewing permits for Chipotle Mexican Grill to build a 2,425-square-foot restaurant on about an acre at 5801 Beach Blvd. in Boulevard Crossing at northwest Beach and University boulevards.

England, Thims & Miller Inc. is the civil engineer. The plans are being prepared for Hallmark Partners Inc.
