Contractor FMGI Inc. was issued a permit to renovate the River City Marketplace Walmart Supercenter at 13227 City Square Drive at a cost of almost $1.1 million. It’s a full-store interior alteration.

Retail notes

• Two Family Dollar stores are in for permitting. The city is reviewing a permit application for construction of a foundation on 1.8 acres at 4594 Sunbeam Road at a cost of $431,250 and for construction of a building on 2.32 acres at 10405 103rd St. at a cost of $615,000. That structure is about 8,300 square feet. HJB Construction Inc. is the contractor for both projects.

Valvoline is in city site-plan review at 8647 Blanding Blvd. in Southwest Jacksonville. Taylor & White Inc. is the civil engineer. A former car-wash building will be demolished for construction of the 1,625-square-foot oil-change facility on about an acre.

• Hurd Construction Management announced it will serve as the prime contractor for Coastal Casual’s 9,000-square-foot retail showroom at 400 CBL Drive, Suite 101, in Cobblestone Village in St. Augustine. Brixmor Property Group is the landlord. Construction started Jan. 7 on the $240,000 project and could be completed in 10 weeks.
