City Refrigeration, a Scotland-based company, is considering an office operation in Cypress Point Business Park.

The city is reviewing a building-permit application for City Refrigeration at 8211 Cypress Plaza Drive. Plans show a 17,100-square-foot tenant space for the company at the Southside business park in the Butler Boulevard area.

Those plans show offices, open office space, conference and meeting rooms and a breakroom.

Holtsinger Construction is the contractor for the $137,536 project, which encompasses 4,100 square feet. RAM Architecture Inc. is the architect.

Landlord HGL Properties Vice President Will Stout said the space formerly was used by EverBank, which relocated Downtown. He confirmed City Refrigeration was based in the United Kingdom, but referred other questions to the company.

City Refrigeration could not be reached by email Thursday.

According to its website, City Refrigeration Holdings Ltd. is part of the City Group, based in Glasgow.

City Group, a facilities management company, was established in 1985 and provides maintenance and engineering, technical procurement and support, and cleaning and ancillary services.

It says it has more than 25 years of experience in retail, residential and commercial markets through offices in Europe, Australia, Africa and North America.

City Refrigeration Holdings (UK) Ltd. is based in Glasgow.

It specializes in the installation and maintenance of cooling equipment and air-conditioning systems, including walk-in chillers and freezers, bottle coolers, ice machines, and commercial refrigerators and freezers.

City Refrigeration is the second United Kingdom company to indicate interest in Jacksonville in several months.

In November, London-based Resource Solutions, a recruiting company, said it wanted to open a global service center and create 75 jobs in Jacksonville. The city and state agreed to award $225,000 in taxpayer incentives to the project.

The city called Resource Solutions a win from its annual trip to London for a Jacksonville Jaguars game.

Another London trip success from 2013 is considered to be Ireland-based Greencore’s USA subsidiary.

The company makes sushi, sandwiches and salads for the supermarket and convenience-store industry at a Jacksonville International Tradeport center.

The JAX Chamber said Thursday it could not comment about City Refrigeration. The city did not respond immediately late Thursday to questions about whether City Refrigeration was a result of those trips and whether the company is seeking incentives.

Deeds recorded for Coach site sale

While the $90.5 million sale for the Coach North American Distribution and Fulfillment Center was executed and signed in July and announced in August, the deeds weren’t recorded until Thursday with the Duval County Clerk of Court.

Cushman & Wakefield, which brokered the deal, announced the sale Aug. 3 and said the transaction had been completed the Friday before, which was July 31.

The deeds grant the property to Intercontinental Real Estate Corp. of Boston, through Coach Way Florida LLC. They were signed by a representative of CTC Investments South LLC, CTC Investments North LLC and CTC Investments LTD, the sellers.

The deeds were executed July 31.

The 851,696-square-foot distribution center is on 47 acres along Coach Way in the Jacksonville International Tradeport.

Coach remains a tenant at the center, from which it distributes purses, accessories and leather goods.

On Thursday, the clerk’s office also recorded a $46 million mortgage to Coach Way Florida LLC from PNC Bank. The mortgage agreement also is dated July 31.
