• The Jacksonville Jaguars Holiday Food Drive concluded with record numbers following the team’s game day stadium collection Sunday. Including donations from area Publix Super Markets, cash donations ($3,300) and cans of soup donated by Campbell’s Soup Company, more than 35 tons of non-perishable food items — enough for approximately 47,000 meals — was collected. All donations will be centrally distributed by the LSS Second Harvest Food Bank to more than 350 non-profit agencies in Northeast Florida.

• The Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra opens its season Sunday at FCCJ’s Wilson Center for the Arts at 5 p.m. Under the direction of JSYO music director Scott Gregg, the orchestra will play two other concerts, March 10 and May 17 at the T-U Center.

• Attorney Dan Armstrong of the Law Offices of Dan W. Armstrong & Associates, P.A. in Ponte Vedra Beach has joined the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc. Membership in the Academy is structured for attorneys who are practicing elder law.

• Craig P. Hoffman, vice president and general counsel of SunGard Corbel, is the new president of the American Society of Pension Actuaries. Hoffman served as president-elect in 2000. He has been with SunGard Corbel since 1985.

• Guitarist Pat Martino is scheduled to perform Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Great American Jazz Series at the University of North Florida. Tickets are $20 for the general public, $8 for students. The UNF Jazz Ensemble I will open the show. For information, call 620-2961.

• Jacksonville Jaguars coach Tom Coughlin and his wife Judy will serve as honorary chairs for the 2001 Christmas seals campaign in Northeast Florida. The Coughlins brother-in-law died from lung disease last year.

• As a finale to National Adoption Month, the Emergency Pregnancy Services will have a candlelight vigil at the Landing Nov. 30 from 6-8 p.m. Paige Kelton of Ch. 30 will emcee the evening.
